Trio Academic Advisor Are you passionate about guiding students towards success? Pitt-Bradford is seeking a dedicated TRIO SSS Advisor to join our team. As a TRIO SSS Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in empowering first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities to achieve their academic and personal goals. This is a 9-month, full-time staff position reporting to the TRIO Program Director. Hiring Range: $35,000 - $40,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Why Pitt-Bradford?

    • Provide comprehensive advising to TRIO SSS participants, focusing on academic, career, and personal goals.
    • Develop individualized success plans and monitor progress towards achieving goals.
    • Conduct workshops and programs to enhance student skills in areas such as study strategies, financial literacy, and career readiness.
    • Collaborate with campus partners to connect students with resources and opportunities for holistic development. Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree required.
      • At least two years of experience in advising, mentoring, or student support services. and/or first-hand experience in overcoming barriers similar to those faced by TRIO SSS students
      • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to work effectively with a diverse student population, understanding and addressing the unique needs of first-generation, low-income, and disabled college students
      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team Join us in fostering a community where every student can thrive!Job SummaryUtilizes basic advising knowledge, theory, and practical experience to serve as an academic liaison for students to identify academic and career goals, select appropriate courses, and plan for degree attainment. Manages small, routine projects.Essential Functions Teach and train students. Read and write effectively at a post-secondary level. Communicate with students with verbal & non-verbal levels of observation. Use word processing & computer hardware and operate job-related software & other technology.Physical Effort Physical effort is minimal. Mobility to negotiate the campus is essential.
