Officer (CFO) will serve as a strategic leader and key member of
the Executive Leadership Team at BestSelf Behavioral Health. In
this role, the CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial
health and strategic direction of the organization, ensuring
long-term financial sustainability, and driving growth initiatives.
The CFO will lead the Accounting and Finance teams, overseeing
functions such as financial planning, budgeting, financial
reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, and risk management.
This individual will collaborate closely with senior leadership and
external partners to align financial strategies with organizational
goals, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial
stewardship. Additionally, the CFO will play a critical role in
managing relationships with auditors, regulatory agencies, and
funders, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations,
and accounting standards. This position requires a forward-thinking
approach to financial leadership, promoting a culture of financial
accountability and supporting the agency's mission to provide
exceptional behavioral health services.Salary Range:
$200,000-$225,000 per yearEmployment Status: Full TimeRequired
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of financial management,
accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial reports and make data-driven
decisions that promote the organization's growth and financial
stability.
- Expertise in preparing, analyzing, and managing budgets.
- Ability to forecast and develop financial plans that align with
organizational priorities and adjust to changing
circumstances.
- Demonstrates high ethical standards and accountability in
financial decision-making.
- Acts with integrity in all financial matters and holds the team
to the same standards, ensuring transparency and
trustworthiness.Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading a team of fiscal support staff who will
establish and monitor adequate systems for the control of all
agency assets, liabilities, and financial operations, including
systems of budget monitoring, accounting for multiple funding
sources, banking operations, third-party billing, payroll,
inventory control, and payment to vendors.
- Meet monthly with the Finance Committee of the Board of
Directors to present the financial position of the agency and
discuss the fiscal strategy.
- Oversight of all contract budgets in accordance with agency
priorities and county and state guidelines.
- Develops and directs implementation of cost-effectiveness
measures, standards, and procedures; analyzes cost (including cost
per unit of service) and cost-effectiveness information; makes
recommendations for improvements.
- Develops short and long-term income and expenditure projections
and alerts the President of the nature and timing of cash flow,
being proactive in the management of cash flow for the agency.
- Collaborates with internal partners to review, on an annual
basis, agency fringe benefit package, insurance requirements, and
equipment needs; recommends improvements to the President.
- Collaborates with internal partners on initiating site rental
renewals and new rental agreements for approval by the President
and Board of Directors.
- Assures the accurate and timely submission of tax, government,
insurance, and personnel reports.
- Assures timely preparation and execution of all monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial reports relating to agency
contracts and as required by all external stakeholders and
regulations.
- Provides assistance to and acts as liaison to external
auditors.
- Maintains all necessary internal control and other standard
accounting practices.
- Participates in the development of new program initiatives,
special projects, and plans.
- Participates in strategic planning activities and in
preparation of annual state/county planning documents.Minimum
Requirements:The ideal candidate will have a CPA and 10+ years of
progressive leadership experience in financial management, ideally
within a large, complex healthcare organization. A strong
background in nonprofit accounting, coupled with a deep
understanding of behavioral health program reimbursement, is highly
preferred.
